The Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) has extended an invitation to both emerging and potential exporters to “Planning for Exports Training”, the purpose of which is to prepare small and medium enterprises (SMEs) for the successful expansion of their businesses into international markets.
The three-day, free of charge, training course covers basic export skills: Export strategic planning; export logistics; export costing; packaging and labelling; feasibility analysis; and negotiation techniques The training is geared to capacitate companies to be export ready, preparing them to meaningfully exploit export opportunities.
It is important to note that only those companies that have export potential will be selected and that 50 companies will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis. The training will take place in nine cities across the country. You merely need to indicate the city in which you wish to attend. The dti will in due course announce the venue.
The cities and the dates are Bloemfontein (04-06 March 2015); Mahikeng (16-18 March 2015); Mbombela (04-06 February 2015); Durban (18-20 February 2015); Witbank (04-06 March 2015); and Polokwane (11-13 March 2015).
