Due to the continued high piracy activities off the coast of Somalia and surrounding waters and the associated increase in insurance costs on the vessels to East Africa. MSC will implemented a Piracy Risk Surcharge for all cargoes out of South Africa, Mozambique, Namibia to East African Ports (Nacala, Dar Es Salaam, Tanga, Zanzibar, Mombasa) from May 30.
A PRS of USD 130/TEU will be imposed on all export cargoes to East African ports.
