The Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) has invited participation in an outward trade and investment mission to Indonesia (15 to 16 September 2014) and Singapore (18 and 19 September 2014). The mission is part of the dti’s objective to create market access for South African value-added products and services in new high-growth markets, and highlight South Africa as an investment destination of choice.
According to the dti, the invitation is open to producers and exporters in: (i) Agro-processing (seafood, fresh fruit, fruit juice, canned fruit, flowers, nuts, canned and processed foods); (ii) cosmetics; (iii) automotive parts; and (iv) yachts.
The deadline date for the submission of completed Export Marketing and Investment Assistance (Emia) Outward Selling Missions application forms is 18 July 2014. According to the dti assistance is provided to qualifying South African exporters to introduce South African products into foreign markets, in a cost-effective manner. The dti will offer the following financial support to qualifying firms: (i) Economy class return airfare to a maximum of R17 000; (ii) Daily subsistence allowance of R2 300 per day; and (iii) Business-to-business meetings for participants.
Why be part of the outward selling mission? A platform that facilitates networking with the key stakeholders and high-level decision makers in Indonesia and Singapore; opportunity to meet these decision-makers face-to-face and present your business in a one-on-one environment; introduce your products directly to your target markets; network and build relationships with potential customers.
