Publish Date:
11 Sep 2019

The Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) extended an invitation to apply to participate in an Outward Selling Mission (OSM) to Biofach in Nuremberg, Germany, which is scheduled to take place from 12 to 15 February 2020 (excluding travel dates).

The objective of this mission is to facilitate access for South African organic certified value-added products and services into Europe. Planned activities include B2Bs meetings at Biofach.

The targeted sectors for this mission include organic certified products as such:

·     Processed food;

·     Drinks;

·     Cosmetics; and

·     Ingredients.

Although this is not a full national pavilion, the South African business delegation however will be afforded an opportunity to take part in it  and promote their certified organic products and services at Biofach.

Companies will be screened and selected in line with the Export, Marketing and Investment Assistance (EMIA) guidelines and market requirements.

For the approved companies, the dti will provide:

·     Accommodation (bed and breakfast only);

·     An economy-class return airfare up to a maximum of R17 000; and

·     Transport of samples up to a maximum of R2 000.

Companies applying for EMIA funding for this mission need to complete and submit the EMIA application form and supporting documentation.

The deadline for applications forms is 17 September 2019.
