ONE launches new West Africa service

Ocean Network Express (ONE) has launched a new weekly Mediterranean Africa Express (MAX) starting today (July 7), expanding its network between West Africa and the Mediterranean and providing onward connections to major global trade lanes.

The weekly service will operate on a rotation of Algeciras, Tangier, Dakar, Tema, Lekki (Lagos) and Abidjan before returning to Algeciras.

It was designed to strengthen links between West Africa and key markets in Asia, Northern Europe, the Indian subcontinent, North America and Latin America through transhipment hubs in Algeciras and Tangier, ONE managing director (Europe), Tomohiro Hosaka, said. The connections will provide customers with access to the carrier's wider global network.

Growing trade volumes and increasingly complex supply chains had driven demand for more reliable connections between West Africa and international markets, ONE said.
