GRIFFIN SHIPPING Holdings, a subsidiary of the Grindrod Unicorn Group, has restructured its management.
On March 31, John Sunley retired as m.d. of Griffin having been based in Hong Kong since 1991. He also retires as a director of Grincor after 18 years with the company.
At the same time Griffin will rationalise its operations by relocating its Hong Kong subsidiary to the Isle of Man. The technical management of the fleet, for which the Hong Kong office was mainly responsible, transferred to Grincor's ship management division in Durban on March 1.
Alan Olivier has been appointed c.e. of Griffin to replace Sunley. Olivier heads up Grincor's new shipowning division which now incorporates Griffin, Unicorn Tankers and fleet management.
Ivan Clark has joined the Griffin Board as non-executive director.
