Offshore marine sector demands flexibility

A proactive approach is key in the offshore marine sector, and one of the cornerstones of the service offered by Walvis Bay-based Logistic Support Services. Established in May 2010 to cater for the growing need for marine support services in the offshore oil and gas exploration and construction industries serving the Namibian and Angolan Oil fields, the company has a detailed understanding of the complexity of customs formalities and the importance of rapid mobilisation required for offshore projects, says logistics manager Duane Sanders. “The offshore marine sector is unique in that it has specialised port agency and logistics requirements,” Sanders told FTW. “Our dedicated offshore operations teams, with expert knowledge and experience of the offshore industry, is on hand 24 hours a day, every day of the year, to ensure our principals receive a consistent first class service. “We understand the highly pressurised environment in which our principals operate so we fully appreciate the importance of meeting deadlines, the need for flexibility and above all the requirement for a proactive approach,” he says.
