The World Trade Organisation (WTO) on 26 April announced that agriculture negotiators had appointed Ambassador Stephen Ndung’u Karau of Kenya as the new chair of the Committee on Agriculture in Special Session. Ambassador Karau will facilitate ongoing negotiations in agricultural trade reform, including negotiations on cotton.
Ambassador Karau replaces New Zealand Ambassador Vangelis Vitalis who returned to his home country in early 2017.
