A NEW airline is planning to offer a festive season service between London and Johannesburg/Cape Town. Maiden Air plans to fly over a six week period between South Africa and London’s Stansted Airport, but according to FTW’s sister publication TNW, the airline has yet to be granted a foreign operator’s permit. It has also yet to apply for a licence at Stansted Airport, according to the report. The Department of Transport has confirmed that it received an application for a foreign operator’s permit from the airline on November 10. Tickets are already believed to be on sale.
