New Mpumalanga airport opens in September

THE NEW Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA) at Primkop near White River will open in September, when both Nelspruit and Skukuza airports will close for scheduled traffic. The R350million state-of-the-art airport will have the capacity to land Boeing 747s and 767s and the Airbus series, allowing it full cargo services. Regional flights will commence in September, says KMIA business development manager Ivan Phenyane, with international airlines and operators able to commence services in December.
