Aero Africa has finally had its launch, initially delayed because of Covid-19, but certainly worth the wait.
Started just before the coronavirus outbreak, the neutral airfreight consolidator had a birth of fire of sorts.
Thankfully, with Jada da Costa running the new outfit’s commercial operations, it was assured of success from the start.
Together with CEO Christos Spyrou, Aero Africa and its team enjoyed a sumptuous evening with the who’s who of the airfreight fraternity: Cacho Cabral of Take Off, Garry Marshall from BidAir Cargo, Peter Schmidt-Löffler of Leschaco, Sean Moore of Ziegler, Martin Keck of SACO CFR, Peter Whitfield of UAC Inc in the US, Ronald Sierat of NFS Airfreight BV Netherlands, Michael Jaensch of Aeroconsol Gmbh Germany, Mazhar Ali of SA Group India, Sander van Woesik of TCS Time Critical Solutions BV Netherlands, Lino Silvio of Cel Aviation Mauritius, and Hélène Dimopoulou of SETCargo France.
Said Da Costa: “We have waited for this day for two long years.”
Now that the launch has finally happened, hard work lies ahead in a supply-chain environment that requires deft navigation.
However, given the collective experience of the company’s people, Spyrou said there was no doubting Aero Africa’s ability.
Nevertheless, "we have a long road ahead of us,” he said.
