A year since its launch in South Africa, Network Airline Services (NAS) has opened an office in Cape Town. For the group which provides air cargo management services, it's part of an ongoing growth strategy in Africa, broadening the company’s routings and networks, says general manager Arnold Vosloo. “The Cape Town market predominantly uses sea freight, but this extensively opens up air freight opportunities and gives the local industry another option to move their cargo.” He said Cape Town was always on the cards, “but it happened more quickly than we expected,” he said. The company has partnered with Airlink Cargo for the venture. “The aim is to give Cape Town connections – be it domestically, regionally or internationally,” he said. According to Marzanne Griesel of Airlink Cargo, the airline offers up to 18 flights daily out of Cape Town. “We believe this is going to be very beneficial for Cape Town and the types of commodities moved from here. Due to the aircraft design cargo is bulk loaded – which is also beneficial for the local market,” she said. Chantel Jonck has been appointed as the branch manager for NAS in Cape Town.
