Mpumalanga government inks deal with Italian export credit agency

The Mpumalanga provincial government has signed an agreement with an Italian export credit agency which provides financial support to Italian companies that are expanding into foreign territories.

"The citizens of Mpumalanga can expect vastly improved service delivery in world-class infrastructure facilities," said Mpumalanga premier, David Mabuza.

The agreement, which was signed late last week, will allow the provincial government - through the Mpumalanga Economic Growth Agency (MEGA) - to mobilise financing for large-scale infrastructure projects.

"This agreement will create an opportunity for South African companies and commercial banks to partner with their Italian counterparts in the implementation of these projects," commented Mabuza.
