ED RICHARDSON
MINISTER OF Trade and Industry Mandisi Mpahlwa described the Coega sector as one of the “key areas of the economy” when he delivered the Department of Trade and Industry’s budget speech recently. Mpahlwa promoted the Department’s “active industrial and trade policy” which included “the promotion of industrial development zones (IDZs) to create a more equitable geographic spread of industrial activity”.
Mpahlwa said that that the IDZs in both East London and Coega were making “positive progress” and that potential investor interest in these zones was increasing because of the government and its commitment to supporting these projects.
