The Department of Police published a notice in respect of “Draft Movement of Animals and Animal Produce Bill, 2012 for Public Comments”, on which comment is due by 19 May 2012. According to the notice the administration of the Stock Theft Act was transferred to the Minister of Police on 19 August 2011. In view of the importance to effectively combating Stock Theft, a draft Bill to repeal and substitute the Stock Theft Act, namely the Movement of Animals and Animal Product Bill, has been drafted.
