On 12 September 2025, the Republic of Moldova acceded to the International Convention on the Simplification and Harmonisation of Customs, widely known as the Revised Kyoto Convention (RKC), thereby becoming its 139th contracting party.
The Instrument of accession of Moldova was deposited with the World Customs Organization (WCO) secretary general on 12 August 2025, transmitted under cover of a note verbale from the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova to the Kingdom of Belgium.
Moldova became the 49th WCO member out of 52 in the Europe region to accede to the RKC, contributing to the global total of 139 contracting parties out of the 186 WCO members.
The WCO indicated that it would continue to support Moldova in the effective implementation of the RKC, for the benefit of its Customs administration, trade community, and society at large.
