Micor gets ready for growth

Logistics major Micor has identified the Far East as a major growth market. And with the global muscle of its parent company Supergroup – which has its own office in China – acting CEO Jenny Murphy believes the company has an attractive value proposition. “We are developing our supply chain product from source manufacturer to end user anywhere in South or southern Africa,” she told FTW. Trade lane managers have been appointed to focus on specific markets with Llewellyn Scott responsible for the Far East, Middle East and UAE. Currently Micor’s areas of focus are China and Hong Kong with the motor industry and textile and clothing industries the key sectors. “With the lifting of quotas at the end of the year we are expecting significant growth in the clothing sector,” said Murphy.
