On 15 August Sars published for comment its draft rule to the Customs and Excise Act, 1964 – proposing the insertion of Rule 49E - relating to the preferential trade agreement between the Common Market of the South (MERCOSUR) and the South African Customs Union (SACU). In conjunction with this rule, forms DA 185, DA 185.4A2, DA 185.4A7, DA 185.4A11, DA 185.4AB9, and DA 185.4B10 are to be inserted.
The draft rules intend to give effect to Annex III of the preferential trade agreement (PTA)
Comment is due by 29 August 2016.
