“A Manifesto for data mobilisation in Customs” Paper Released

Publish Date:
30 Nov 2020

At the 15th WCO PICARD Conference, held virtually from 23 to 26 November, a special edition of the World Customs Journal, featuring the topic “The WCO and Customs and trade community: past and future”, was introduced.

The first paper from this special edition is entitled “If algorithms dream of Customs, do Customs officials dream of algorithms? A manifesto for data mobilisation in Customs”.

The paper is based on the keynote speech given by the WCO Secretary General at the 14th WCO PICARD Conference held from 22 to 24 October 2019 in Skopje, North Macedonia and entitled “Data Science: policy Implications for Customs”. The paper is available as part of the WCO Research Paper Series. The special edition of the World Customs Journal includes other papers presented during the 15th WCO PICARD Conference.

A copy of the Research Paper is available on request.
