Construction on the dualisation of the Harare/ Beitbridge highway is due to start “soon”. This after Austrian construction giant Geiger International announced the completion of its surveying of the road last week, pointing out that it had already started shipping machinery and equipment into Zimbabwe to kick-start the construction process. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Development Dr Joram Gumbo confirmed that government had secured all the funds required for the project, following deals made with the Austrian company to secure foreign currency in the country by fast-tracking the business registration process.
