Logistics giant adds muscle

THE R1.3-billion logistics operation, the Fuel Group, has just acquired SOS (Special Operations Services) - a customised logistics service provider valued at R170-million.
This is a further expansion of this e-commerce-driven group, formed in October last year.
Currently in the Fuel stable are names like LADS (logistics consulting); the RTT roadfreight, airfreight, warehousing and FMCG distribution company; specialist distributor Kite; Reach, a logistics information technology operation; the e-commerce solutions company, EPOS; and the securities and risk management operation, Revert.
The idea, said SOS founder and chairman, Guy Martin, is to take a group of specialist operations to the market - offering an integrated package of logistics services.
Watch this space, he added. Something exciting is waiting to happen.
