BMW clarifies
‘incorrect reports’
on SA plans
BMW does not plan to
leave South Africa, the
Minister of Trade and
Industry, Dr Rob Davies,
said recently shortly
before an expected
meeting with the German
car manufacturer.
Davies said he had met
a BMW delegation during
the strike and that the
company had pointed
out that it remained
committed to South
Africa.
SA navy frigate to
patrol West Coast of
Africa
The South African
navy frigate, the SAS
Spioenkop, departed
Cape Town last
Wednesday for patrols
along the West Coast of
Africa.
According to a navy
spokesman, the vessel
will visit Namibia
(Walvis Bay), Angola
(Luanda), Ghana (Tema),
Nigeria (Lagos) and
Senegal (Dakar).
