On 22 October 2021, the International Trade Administration Commission of South Africa (ITAC) announced the initiation of an investigation into the alleged dumping of laminated safety glass, classifiable in tariff subheading 7007.29, originating in or imported from the People’s Republic of China. Comment is due by 21 November 2021.
According ITAC the applicant, PFG Building Glass, a division of PG Group (Pty) Ltd, supported by Compass Glass, had submitted sufficient evidence and established a prima facie case to enable ITAC to arrive at a reasonable conclusion that an investigation should be initiated on the basis of dumping, material injury, threat of material injury and causality.
