Kenya’s president, Uhuru Kenyatta, broke ground yesterday (Tuesday) to signal the start of construction to rebuild and expand the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi, just four months after it was engulfed in flames.
President Uhuru Kenyatta said the goal was to make JKIA one of the world's leading air terminals, according to a statement from the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA).
Construction of the new US$635-million terminal is expected to last until 2017, says the KAA.
