Kaleido adds SA to regional logistics network

Kaleido Logistics has expanded its southern African footprint by bringing International Freight Services South Africa into its global network, with IFS South Africa now operating as Kaleido Logistics South Africa.

The move gives the Spain-headquartered logistics group a South African base alongside its existing operations in Angola, Namibia and Mozambique.

The company said the integration formed part of its strategy to develop logistics corridors across southern Africa, including flows linked to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Madagascar.

Kaleido currently manages the transport and logistics of raw materials, processed goods and project cargo across the region. These operations are supported by ports including Luanda, Lobito, Walvis Bay, Durban, Beira and Nacala.

The addition of the South African operation is expected to improve cross-border coordination, expand service capabilities and support the movement of cargo along major African corridors.

“This integration represents a natural step in our growth strategy in Africa. By combining strong local expertise with Kaleido’s global network, we are enhancing our capabilities and creating new opportunities to support our clients across the region,” said Kaleido CEO, Xoán Martínez.

Kaleido said continuity for IFS clients would remain a priority, with the same local teams continuing to manage operations, service delivery and client relationships.

“This marks a very important step in our journey, and we take it with greater enthusiasm than ever. This move will further strengthen our growth, and becoming part of Kaleido’s international network will open up significant new opportunities for us,” said IFS founder and director, Wayne Gunning.

Kaleido provides door-to-door logistics services by road, sea and air, with operations in sectors including renewable energy, oil and gas, industrial equipment, natural resources, automotive and retail.
