January swings into deep deficit

AFTER A period of ups and downs over the last three months, the trade deficit swung back into a deep deficit in January. Exports decreased by 16.6% to R30.456-billion, while imports recovered by 17.3% to R42.393-bn – with a trade deficit
of R11.937-bn.
