Italian company to export first Moz LNG consignment in three years

The first liquefied natural gas (LNG) gas exports from Mozambique’s Rovuma basin project are on track for the latter half of 2022, according to a statement by Italian energy company ENI.

“The development scheme provides for the construction of  a FLNG (floating liquefied natural gas rig) with a production capacity of 3.4 metric tonnes per year of LNG,” said a company spokesperson, adding that the activities around the company’s Coral Sul deposit were “well on track”.

The execution phase of Coral Sul, the first Rovuma basin project, started in June 2017.
