On 23 September 2011 the Supreme Court of Appeal of South Africa delivered its judgement in the matter between the International Trade Administration Commission of South Africa (Itac), and the South African Tyre Manufacturers Conference (Pty) Ltd (SATMC), Bridge-stone South Africa (Pty) Ltd, Continental Tyre (South Africa) (Pty) Ltd, Dunlop Tyres International (Pty) Ltd, and Goodyear Tyre and Rubber Holdings (Pty) Ltd. The Supreme Court of Appeal found in favour of Itac, setting aside a North Gauteng High Court order that Itac had failed to conduct a proper investigation into the alleged dumping of tyres manufactured in or imported from the People’s Republic of China (China).
