SARS on 06 February 2018 published for comment, draft Rules under Sections 31B and 40 to the Act, 1964 relating to incomplete and provisional entries, on which comment is due by 21 February 2018.
According to the covering note of the release, in terms of subsection (2) of Section 34 of the Revenue Laws Second Amendment Act, 2008, subsection (1)(a) of that section which inserted Section 39B into the Act, 1964, will come into operation on a date fixed by the President by proclamation in the Government Gazette. It is SARS’ intention to shortly request the President to fix a date by proclamation on which Section 34(1)(a) of the Act, 2008 will come into effect.
