As the world tries to get to grips with the impact of the coronavirus, the International Civil Aviation Organization (Icao) has called on its member states to join forces to help mitigate the spread of the disease.
In a letter, Icao secretary general, Fang Liu, said the organisation had urged its member states to take a collaborative approach and implement civil aviation standards that would contribute to its containment.
Liu said the outbreak underpinned how important it was for health authorities to secure air borders through requisite policy formulation and the support of related services.
