Hoegh orders another four car carriers

HOEGH AUTOLINERS has added a further four ro/ro car carrier newbuildings to its order list. The pure car truck carrier vessels, to be delivered in 2007, will be built by Tsuneishi Corporation of Japan and will have capacity for 5 200 car equivalent units. The announcement was made at the naming of its latest newbuilding, Hoegh New York. The company’s fleet expansion programme now comprises 20 ro/ro vessels worth around $1 billion of which nine have been delivered. Hoegh Autoliners operates around 50 car carriers.
