As any of the logistics service
providers operating in the
capital know, office space in
Maputo is at a premium.
The average price per square
metre to rent office space
in Maputo ranges between
US$2000 and US$3200 per
sqm per year, according to a
study by consultancy Prime Yield
Moçambique (PYM).
“Over the last five years the
price of renting office space
has risen due to high demand,
particularly from large companies
and the arrival of foreigners,” says
PYM consultant Daniela Costa.
New office blocks that are
expected to come onstream over
the next five years are expected to
stabilise rentals.
At present Maputo has
approximately 337000 sqm of
office space, according to Costa.
