Alwyn Nel -handling all cargo types. Anna Cox AS THE sole South African representative of the independent international network of freight forwarders, Global Logistics Associates, Kingfisher Freight Services has access to 130 offices worldwide. But the company, which was launched 10 years ago, originally specialised in road freight into Africa, gradually expanding into sea and air freight internationally. Its Africa transport arm handles full loads, consolidations and express cargo, also offering bonded and free warehousing facilities. “We operate anywhere in the world. There are very few places we don’t go to,” said Alywn Nel. The company handles all types of cargo from general to perishable and hazardous goods. A specially-trained team of hazardous cargo specialists is certified annually to ensure compliance with new legislation, handling and processing requirements. “We manage a number of vehicles and have enough capacity for in and out-bound cargo,” says Nel. “If the supply exceeds the demand, we have additional vehicles on standby.” Catering for clients’ individual needs has been a winning recipe, according to Nel. “Many satisfied clients have recommended us and have helped us build our reputation,” he added.
