INTERNATIONAL CLEARING and forwarding agent a.hartrodt South Africa has moved into warehousing and distribution through the purchase and renovation of a 1000m2 warehouse and office facility directly over the road from its head office in Jet Park.
“The evolution of the freight forwarding industry over the past few years in terms of what importers and exporters require from their freight agents as well as the company’s current and projected growth have prompted expansion moves,” says operations manager Carl Robinson.
The new facility offers a vast array of services, specifically aimed at FCL container packing and unpacking, as well as cargo storage and distribution.
It is equipped to handle all clients’ needs as the building currently boasts three loading bays, two of which have electronically-operated dock levellers, a fully computerised system which pinpoints the exact location of any piece of cargo within the facility, forklifts, and ample racking.
Security is a major priority and in addition to a fully automated alarm system, after hours security is taken care of by armed guards.
