Itac on 21 February 2014 published a notice of the initiation of a Sunset Review of the anti-dumping duties on gypsum plasterboard, classifiable under tariff subheading 6809.11, originating in or imported from Indonesia and Thailand.
On 26 June 2013 Itac published for notice that unless a substantial request was made indicating that the expiry of the anti-dumping duties against imports of gypsum plasterboard was terminated that it would lead to the recurrence of dumping and material injury.
On 19 September 2013 a response to the notice was received from Saint Gobain Constructions Product SA (Pty) Ltd, while a letter of support was received from the other manufacturer – Lafarge Gypsum South Africa.
Comment is due by 31 March 2014.
In last week’s issue we announced that anti-dumping measures were due to expire on 14 March 2014, unless a Sunset Review investigation is initiated.
