ALAN PEAT AS THE SA Revenue Service (SARS) converts its clearance procedures into electronic data interchange (EDI), it has put another document into electronic format. Customs has informed all its branch offices that, with immediate effect, they will accept F178 currency exchange forms electronically attested by ABSA up to July 1, 2005. However, this will immediately change once customs has all its F178 requirements built into its new portfolio of export clearance documents, and this format has been adopted by the freight clearing and forwarding industry.
