JAMES HALL A SURGE in regional shipments to Zimbabwe and other SADC countries has moved Durban-based Swift Container Logistics beyond its growth predictions for the year, said new company manager Pearl Harris. “We’ve been doing well this year, and exceeding expectations,” said Harris. “There is lots of traffic to Zimbabwe and Malawi in particular. In Zimbabwe, it is aid that goes in, and tobacco that comes out,” she explained. The company specialises in overborder business. Harris describes the start-of-year business as exceptional, with January and February “bumper” months. Having your containers all over the map of Southern Africa during a business surge requires sophisticated container logistics to keep tabs on traffic. Presently, the management of incoming and outgoing containers in Zimbabwe is one focus, but it is being handled without reported complications.
'Exceptional' start to business year for Swift
