On 18 December 2020, the South African Revenue Service (SARS) announced an amendment to Part 1 of Schedule No.1 to the Customs and Excise Act, 1964, “Ordinary Customs Duty”, to implement the changes to the rates of customs duties in terms of the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) between the European Union (EU) and the Southern African Development Community (SADC) EPA states, effective from 01 January 2021.
