KEVIN MAYHEW
United Arab Emirates national carrier, Etihad Airways, together with Oasis International Leasing of Abu Dhabi and Barclays Capital, has signed a lease financing agreement for six Airbus A330-200 aircraft. The value of the agreement is approximately $948m. Terms have not been announced. This agreement stems from Etihad’s 2004 announcement that it will acquire 24 Airbus aircraft, including 12 Airbus 330-200s. The agreement was considered the largest ever made by a start-up airline at the time. The six Airbus widebody A330-200 aircraft are scheduled to be delivered to Etihad later this month.
