An emergency response centre will be operational during the Easter period along the N4 toll route, according to TRAC. “The N4 toll route usually experiences high traffic volumes during the Easter weekend with the majority of road users making use of the Middelburg Plaza,” reads a statement. “To create a safer route and provide the best possible emergency response to accident victims, TRAC will operate the N4 Easter Rescue and Road Safety Project from the ALZU Petroport near Middelburg. For the sixth consecutive year, a large and highly visible contingent of emergency personnel and law enforcement authorities will be stationed here to respond to accidents and ensure road users’ safety over the Easter holiday.” The project starts on Thursday, April 21 and will continue for the duration of the Easter weekend until Monday, April 25.
