The Economist Intelligent Unit (EIU) growth forecast for Angola this year is reported to be a bit more optimistic than the nation’s government believed.
The proposed revision of the government’s State Budget Law for 2016 lowered its forecast from 3.3% to 1.1% of gross domestic product (GDP). But the EIU has predicted 1.3% growth.
The EIU’s latest report on Angola estimates an average growth rate of 2.7% in 2016-2020. The maximum is 3.5% in 2018 and the minimum this year’s 1.3%.
All a bit more encouraging than that of the continent’s economic giant SA, which is verging on negative growth.
