WHILE THE international NVOCC Ecu Line has tied up an agency agreement with the largest groupage operator in the US, the implications for the SA operation are still unclear, according to m.d. Pete Sands.
This followed an announcement from the Ecu international office in Belgium that a deal had been done with the NACA group - DCL, Conterm and Brennan - that would allow co-loading on the Trans-Atlantic trade.
We've just had word about this, said Sands, and we're not sure about what it will mean for us in SA.
However, it would be fair to assume that we will become SA agents for some of that US group's business.
