THE EAST African Community (EAC) has draw up a comprehensive plan of action to deal with the anticipated bird flu pandemic, according to Uganda’s Daily Monitor. A co-ordinating body has been established to supervise the regional response in terms of adequate surveillance, emergency preparedness and harmonisation of policy and legislation on Avian Influenza. This applies in particular to security, public health, trade and tourism, according to the report.
