Commuters travelling on EMTPM municipal buses In Maputo may now pay their fares using etickets only, reports Biz Tech Africa.
The new eticket system requires commuters to load a smart card with sufficient credit to pay for their trip.
With effect from August 1, the first phase of the eticket system applies to major routes in Maputo, Matola, Boane and to the Mozal factory complex.
The new eticketing system is expected to improve passenger convenience and safety, and ensure that buses are not overloaded.
