Ongoing delays at Durban Gateway Terminal have forced Maersk and CMA CGM to omit the next two eastbound Port Louis calls on their Safari service.
Maersk said on Friday that the Maersk Stockholm 632N and CMA CGM Missouri 633N would both omit Port Louis to protect their scheduled arrival at Tanjung Pelepas.
Current delays at the Durban terminal meant the vessels would not be able to reach Port Louis within their allocated windows and still arrive at Tanjung Pelepas on schedule.
Port Louis and Islands-bound cargo loaded in Durban will instead be replanned via Tanjung Pelepas.
Far East cargo loading in Port Louis will be moved to alternative services, depending on the port of discharge and available transhipment options.
The latest schedule changes follow the omission of the CMA CGM Volga 631N's eastbound Port Louis call earlier this week after terminal equipment failure and delays against its planned operating window at Durban Gateway Terminal.
The Volga omission itself followed an earlier decision by Maersk to drop the Cezanne's Port Louis call after equipment breakdowns and severe weather caused operational stoppages in Durban.
