A DIRECT scheduled airfreight consolidation service from London to Durban has just been launched by AEI Profreight.
This is the first scheduled London to Durban airfreight consolidation in many years, Ronnie Nayager, Durban airfreight branch manager, told FTW.
Cargo leaves London on the Saturday direct flight, arriving in Durban on Sunday, and can be delivered to clients on the following day.
While there have been other direct consolidations, none have been on a regular scheduled basis, says Nayager. We're sufficiently confident that the space booked will be utilised. The US-based, ISO-certificated company has 30 offices in the UK, and seven offices in South Africa. Durban is especially looking forward to building up a direct export consolidation service to London on a weekly basis once the volumes for exports increase, Nayager said.
