Demand for CA climbs sharply

CUSTOMER DEMAND for Carrier Transicold's EverFresh controlled atmosphere (CA) systems is climbing sharply, with almost 50% more EverFresh systems being sold in 2000 than in the previous year, says David Dinh, director of marketing for Carrier Transicold's Container Products Group.
P&O Nedlloyd has thus far spent in excess of R50 million on EverFresh equipment, which was successfully deployed over the past year.
Tissa Fuchsloch, P&O Nedlloyd's reefer product manager, says that the company expects the demand for EverFresh CA to continue growing for the simple reason that perishables arrive at their destination in a superior marketable condition.
