Due to the interest in the implementation date of the “New Acts” we introduce a clock counting down the days since the publication of the Customs Duty Act, 2014 and the Customs Control Act, 2014 (control) and when their drafting commenced.
It has been 414 days since the Customs Duty Act, 2014 was published, 401 days since the Customs Control Act, 2014 was published and 3 891 days since their draft commenced.
Even though these Acts have not entered into force they have been subject to two proposed amendments in terms of the Taxation Laws Amendment Bills of 2015 and 2014.
Although batches of the proposed rules to the Acts have been published, I have not seen, nor am I aware of, the publication of any forms – essentially the DA replacement forms.
