A LEADING INTERNATIONAL maritime crime buster will address workshops dealing with organised crime, fraud, and theft in Johannesburg on November 11. London-based Pottengal “Muku” Mukundan, director of the Commercial Crimes Division of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the International Maritime Bureau, has accepted an invitation from the Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI). He will deal with fraud in the trade finance system, financial instrument fraud, and shipping fraud. Based on cases investigated and resolved by the ICC Commercial Crime Services, the workshops will focus on alerting local businesses to their vulnerabilities, and providing strategies to prevent fraud and minimise loss.
