Serious questions alluding to possible conspiratorial causes are being asked about the Boeing aircraft that recently plunged into the sea off the coast of Indonesia, killing all 189 people on board.
Early indications pointed to technical error resulting in the aircraft rapidly losing altitude soon after taking off from Jakarta before crashing into the Java Sea.
Judgement error was even raised as a possible cause since the pilot radioed to the tower that technical issues were being experienced before changing his mind about possibly turning around, telling safety operators that the problem had self-corrected.
But investigative portal Covert Geopolitics said it was strange that a “Boeing 737 that had just started operating in August 2018 had dropped into the sea with no survivor.”
The author cites the possible “deep state” involvement of senior bankers suspected of political bribery and money laundering through Indonesia’s highest financial institutions.
The article said among those who died had been officials from the country’s public assets service (KPKNL) and the treasury (KPPN).
In the meantime the plane’s fuel has been found to have been leaking at the time of the crash.
But Covert Geopolitics said it was highly unlikely considering the plane’s age and the rigorous structural safety checks an aircraft manufacturer like Boeing applied before releasing a new plane.
It also noted that the pilot and co-pilot had combined flight experience of 11 000 hours.
Boeing’s PR department has committed to offer any technical assistance where necessary.
